ADMETOS - THOUGHTS and EXPERIENCES

When the eight TNP's are Examined it is Easy to See how they Contain & Blend a Variety of Qualities that are Found in the Traditional Visible Planets.

Admetos contains a Mixture of Saturn & Pluto, but also has Some Unique Qualities that Stand out on Their Own.

One of them is a Bit Unusual as it Has to Do with the Chaos Theory in Modern Physics.

One a Deeper Level:
Chaos Theory is the Closest that Modern Science has Come to the Astrological Model of Life.

In this lecture we will see:
some of Admetos' signification exemplified in People Lives, as well as the Wider Scope of the Chaos theory connection.

I don't know how Admetos came to be named that way, but True to Admetos' keyword of ' Beginning', a Good Place to Start is Grrek Mythology.

The Mythological Story of King Admetos:

During one of Hercules' twelve labors he came to spend the night at the house of his friend Admetus, king of Thessaly.

The palace was in deep mourning, since Admetus had just lost his wife in an unusual way. The god Apollo, as a punishment from Zeus for a breach of the Olympian order, had to do time as a Slave in the Admetus Household. During that time he Befriended the King and his Wife Alcestis.

When Apollo learned that the Three fates had Spun all of Admetus' thread of Life and were on the Point of Cutting it, he obtained from them a Repieve - Admetos Would Not Die if Someone Would Willingly Die in his Place.

In selfishness, Admetus turned ti his old parents, then to his friends, but was turned down. The one person who agreed to die for him was his devoted wife Alcestis, and he accepted it, all the same time feeling sorry for her and for himself for having to lose such a loving wife.

When hercules discovered all that he wrestled Alcestis back from death.

We can see how the Mythological story about king Admetus contains some of the Astrological Admetos Elements :

Eva Peron became famous in her early death as much as in her lifetime
She had:
Sun|Moon = Admetos and
Mars|Moon=Admetos.
Peron married Eva after the death of his first wife, and she became his most fierence and loyal supporter.
She was driven, ambitious and persistent. Worked tirelessly to strengthen his (and her) political power.
When Eva Peron died her body was embalmed, and at some point it was brought to rest in Italy.
Only a number of years later it was re-interred in Argentina.
Final interment in the Argentine soil of the exclusive Recoleta Cemetery of Buenos Aires on october 22, 1976 -- 24 years after her untimely death from cancer at age 33.

When Eva had Colonel the Minister of Communications, as her lover, she persuaded him to stage a huge variety show to benefit a town nearly destroyed by an earthquake.
At this show was Colonel juan Domingo Peron. Their affair began that same night in 1944.

On Sept.23, 1971, in the iron Gate suburb of Madrid, a van delivered a black wooden coffin to the mansion where Juan Peron, Argentina's exiled dictator, lived in bitter exile with Isabel, his third wife. In it lay the body of his second wife, Eva Duarte Peron. Missing for almost two decades but perfectly preserved, the embalmed corpse had been spirited out of Argentina by the generals who had outsed Peron and buried anonymously in an Italian grave. Now the generals had returned the body to Peron. He had Evita's cofin set up on the dining table. as Peron plotted his return to power, Isabel lovingly combed her predecessor's long blond hair.

Real-estate, Property, Land

On my firts encounter with Admetos I was intrigued by its name. It sounded remarkably close to the Hebrew word "Adama", which means Earth, Land or Soil

This manifestation appeared a number of times in natal charts and by transit.
Sun=Admetos was about the only indication of real-estate in the following client case:
The issue in the reading was a very substantial piece of property in Europe, where she was born, which she inherited form her father. The questions where about the sale of this property, the tax sistuation and various legal matters. The Sun also symbolizes the client's father, who had not taken the proper legal actions at the time before he died. More insight comes from the traditional chart, where Saturn (significator of Land) in Pisces in the 9th house (far away place and legal issue) trines Jupiter in Scorpio (lost of money) in 5th house (her son, the lawyer who provided advice). Saturn trine Jupiter is always a good financial indication. This whole event took place and was resolved during her second Saturn Return in that 9th house.

Another Case : A client's daughter has a landscaping business. The whole family (nodes) is in real-estate. Sun|Admetos= Asc= Node

Found in a client's chart : Neptune=Admetos=Aries ("To make solid. Icy conditions")
My thoughts turned refrigeration system that work on the basic of gas compression and expansion.
The Aries contact indicated professional involvement of this nature, so I asked the client whether he had anything to do with air-conditioners or refrigeration system, and the answer was "yes", he worked in this kind of business for heavy machinery when he first came to this country.

Raw Material, Origin

In a client's chart : Admetos=Ceres, and the Moon in the 6h, so I asked about raw uncooked food. The answer came : "yes, this is my diet".
The strological explanation is that Ceres indicates food supply and nourishment, and Admetos symbolized the raw unprocessed material, in its original state.

Origins, the Source, Originality & Connection with the Earth

Alfred Witte

From Steve Lee (MP 101) : Witte was a surveyor by profession and was employed by the city of Hamburg, where, among other things, he set out the municipal airport.

Surveyor-Definition:
An engineer who determines the boundaries and elevations of land or structures.
Surveying is the art and science of accurately determing the position of points and the distances between them. These points are usually, but not exclusively, associated with position on the surface of the Earth, and are often used to establish land boundaries for ownership or governmental purposes.

Working through the First World War with this colleague, Witte was able, through the examination of thousands of charts and precisely timed events, for example the moment of artillery barrages and explosions on the Western Front, to produce perhaps the first major advance in interpretational techniques since Ptolemy.

From Gary Christen's Article:

One of his (Alan Leo's) foreign students was a German named Karl Brandler-Pracht.
Pracht was an itinerant astrologer ( a common lifestyle for astrologer of the era ) who traveled from city to city teaching and practicing. His ideas rested heavily on the use of the Arabic Parts and solar-arc-based directions. In 1911 he taught a class in Hamburg, Germany, and two of his students went on to influence Central European astrology in a big way.
Pracht's teaching and methods greatly inspired both Elsbeth Ebertin and Alfred Witte. Elsbeth went on to found a very popular magazine (Mensch im All, later called Cosmobiologie).

Witte began in 1913 to write some original, ground-breaking articles, and by 1915 he had joined with Friedrich Sieggruen to found the Keplerian Circle. The stated purpose was based on Kepler's remark about the need to clean up the baby called astrology without throwing the baby away with the dirty bathwater. Basically, the group wanted to get rid of the junk that had accumulated over the centuries, and to investigate the origins of astrology.

Witte, a surveyor by profession, was classically trained and able to read Latin and Greek. He had available to him many of the ancient astrological works that where later destroyed in the two World Wars, and he was apparently obsessive enough to read and understand everything. He went through a process then that the astrological field is collectively going through today - that is, rediscovering the roots of astrology - re-creating what the ancients actually did.

The Scientific Connection

Earth, Inertia, Motion, Rotation and Galileo
It is Often the Case that the Theories of Great Scientists Can Be Seen in Their Personal Charts. Galileo's Science manifests Throught Admetos.

Galileo had Sun-opp-Admetos exact, as if to Demonstrate the Tension Between the Geocentric and the Heliocentric Doctrines.
What better Symbolism for a Person who has Redefined the Relationship Between These Two !

Galileo's Main Scientific Discoveries deal with the Sun & Earth, Gravity and the study of Motion.
He discovered the Laws of Gravity when he set out to disprove the old Aristotelean physics that the Earth was stationary, and demonstrated how all object fall towards the Earth at the same speed and acceleration, regardless of their weight or size.

Galileo also discovered the Laws That Govern The Rotation of Pendulums and the Length of Time it Took For One Oscillation, which eventually led to usign them to measure time in clocks (Admetos=Time ?!).

Admetos' words: "Narrow, Limiting Condotions" also describe the House Confinement Imposed on Him by the Church Until the End of Life.

This matches the symbolism of Jupiter & Saturn in the 12H-trine-Sun-Ruler.Asc in the regular chart. Due to this Exalted Jupiter Galileo spent those years in comfort, and kept up his scientific work, almost without interruption.
This last part of his life completed a cycle that began in his very early years, when he spent some happy time in the solitary life of monastery, until he was pulled out of there by his father who was planning a medical career for him.

Modern Science : Chaos Theory & Strange Attractors

Some of my Most Gartifying Experiences Occur when I Come Across a Scientific Theory for which Astrology has an Alternative Explanation or Correspondence.

Admetos Seems to Provide Us With One

A number of years back, Bill Meridian gave a talk for the Uranian Society on the subject of the psychological dimension of the Trans-Neptunian Hypothetical planets. He said ha had once asked a person with a strong Admetos connection in the chart to describe the feeling associated with that point.
The person described an experience resembling a Spiraling Motion, Moving Inwardly On Itself, Always Drawn Towards a Center.

A few years later, i came across the Chaos Theory, which was popularized by James Gleick's fascinating book "Chaos" and by other books.
When it came to a term called "Strange Attractors" the association with Admetos came up very powerfully into my mind.

Chaos theory is the Attempt to Find Order and Regularity in Non-Linear, Chaotic, Seemingly Unpredictable Systems, such as weather patterns, turbulence in fluids and gases, fluctuations in animal populations, occurence of epidemics and even socio-economic phenomena.

The Goal is to Come Up with a Mathematical Model that can Describe Such A System, Reveal Its Regularity and Predict It's Future Bahavior.

"Strange Attractors" was a name given to a phenomenon that occurs when series of numbers that define the parameters of such a system are fed into that mathematical model.

A pattern Begins to Emerge, which Combines the Features of Irregularity with the Tendency to Remain in a Fixed (Predictable) Space.

When these numbers are displayed as dots on a graph they trace lines that circle and spiral inwardly, converging towards a dead center, always ending up within the same predictable space, as if attracted to it.

In Other Words:
Even System that Seem Chaotic have an Underlying Principle of Stability and Repetition.

Such words as:
"Beginning", "End", "Rotation", "Convergence", Spiral Inward", "Stability" sound axtremely close to our Admetos principles, and They most Certainly Resemble the Description Provided by Bill Meridian.

On other level,
this Suggested Connection Between Admetos and such Fundamental Physical Pricnciples can be Extended to the Process of Creation Itself.

One can Almost Visualize the Earth Forming out of the Chaos of the Primordial Matter, Beginning to Rotate Around Itself and in the Process Condensing the Gases into a Cneter of Solid inert Matter of the Earth.

Back to Astrology:

The Natal Chart can be Seen as a "Strange Attractor" Model of Life

Non-Astrologers see life as a series of ups & downs and a chain of unrelated chaotic events.

Astrology, Using the Natal Chart as the Initial Conditions of the Euqation, can Chart the Course of Life and Tell Where it Will All End Up.

The "Strange Attractor" Model could actually be the Underlying Principle Behind the Astrological Truth that One Can Never Stray Too Far From the "Natal Promise" that is Contained in the Chart.

In all Circumstances, we Always Come Back to the Behavior Patterns and Events, as predetermined by Those Initial Prameters.
